Try without the booster first.  Most serious racing 1600's dont use a
booster.  They never had one originally.  you can always fabricate a pedal
with greater leverage to lighten uinboosted pedal pressure.  A long time
friend who raced a 1600 for a decade in the eighties always felt that his
car was more competitive because of the better brake feel he had with non
boosted upgraded brakes.  His daughter still drives the car without a
booster.
