Greg,

Be very careful what you touch in this area especially stuff that conforms
to an ADR eg dash pads, heater, seats etc. as you can get yourself into deep
sh*t rego and worse insurance wise if you don't get some mods engineered or
noted on your papers. Check out the local RTA and your insurance rules
before you start messing with anything. You used to be able to get rally
rego to cover most other items like rear seat removal but I think that is so
restrictive these days in so much as when and where you can drive the car on
the street.

regards
Terry

Subject: stripping out a car

Hey list,

are there any laws that you guys know about, restricting you from stripping
certain items from a roadgoing (registered) vehicle. Things like door trim,
rear electric window motors and mechanism (possibly perspex instead of glass
windows), passenger seat, rear seat, carpets. One of the main items also,
is the dash. I would like to make up a simplified, lightweight dash, and
piss off all the un-needed stuff. Any way, you get the drift.

Thanks
Greg
