Neraj, I first went to this event 2 years ago. They run four or five groups on the day arranged in levels of experience. There are plenty of really experienced instructors available for novices. Before they let the novices loose they give them a full training session (lecture, track evaluation, slow speed laps showing racing lines etc). Track time is split equally between the groups so everyone get maximum track time.
As mentioned in the sup. regs you need to be a member of a cams affiliated club and have a cams level two licence. Both of theses are very easy to get you just need to hand over a few $. To become a member of Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club (NDSOC) is $60 and a cams level two licence is $66. Both last for 12 mths and allow you compete in other events (sprints, hillclimbs etc). >I've never been on a track and just want to find the limits of my driving capability and car, rather than do on the street! After a few track days you will find that the absolute upper limits of any road car can only be really found on the track as there are too many limiting factors in street driving (cops, pedestrians and other cars to name a few). Awaiting flames.... But I've done the spins on the track to prove it. If you are interested come along to the next NDSOC general meeting 8pm, 3rd of OCT at the Whitehorse Inn (bistro), Burwood Rd Hawthorn (opposite Hawthorn station). I will be able to sort out any of the paperwork then. Apparently the track day is organised "For those who have not been on a race track before this is the ideal opportunity to come out and have some fun." But i'm a bit confused as i was reading the rgs and it says i need a CAMS licence etc...? I've never been on a track and just want to find the limits of my driving capability and car, rather than do on the street! Regards, Neraj. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Listen to your Yahoo!
