Andrew, The first thing I'd do is change the oil filter for a genuine or Ryco and see if that makes a difference. In days of old the relief valves were a bit dodgy, I've not heard of this as a problem for a long time though. Also and this is important for all Datto owners, make sure you use the correct filter for what ever engine you have (L series is Z115).
Oil pressure specs for L series at idle (hot) is 14 to 17 psi so your not out of spec. Is the fluctuation at constant revs?
