you can  remove the guides , then polish em up, but you MIGHT  have to replace  them with oversize guides ( thicker walled guides,  o.d.  so that u use the same size valve stem.)  the guides are a interferiance  fit, and dont know if taking  the olod ones out and putting std ones in the alloy head will loosen em up.?    ...or               why dont you just grind the valve guide smooth with the roof of the port?

Subject: Valve guide removal???

Hey guys and girls,

To completly polish the intakes and exhausts of my z18et head, I think it is going to be necessary to remove the guides.   Are these guides meant to be removed and replaced?  Or should new one be put in?  I realise that each guide must remain with its corresponding valve and the height of the guide must also be measured before removal so they can be put back exactly the same when they go back in.
Comments/suggestions/answers?

Cheers people
