Subject: struts/shockies
Morning Listers,
I bought some stanza struts with replaced shocks. I noticed that
some oil was leaking when the shock was horizontal. I undid the strut top
and boot and found that there is not a hex type nut (usually 50mm) holding
the shock in to the strut tube. It is just all thread with a indent up the
top so some type of key can be used to tighten it up.
Would this be the cause of the oil leak, or is that just due to
being horizontal??
Is this setup the same on all stanza struts??
The retaining thread doesn't look like its all the way in as about
5mm of thread is still showing, could I just stick a screwdriver in there
and give it a hit to turn it the rest of the way?
I doubt a specific torque is required as it is just a retainer!!
Any help appreciated
PS, just a thought could I piss off this threaded fitting with a
180B hex nut setup??
Justin
