Possible problem could be that the chassis rail that the box is bolted to is
moving with the extra load of the fat rubber.  Look at the box while moving
the steering wheel, if it moves sideways, you would be best to brace the box
to the side of the strut tower.

Its unlikely to be worn out beyond adjustment.  But, if turning the screw
down on top of the box, or taking shims out from under the box cover doesn't
fix any slack, get a good (lower K's) steering box from a 120Y, these fit
later (70-72) 1600's.
