i used
to work on a evo5 GTP car that ran anti lag, when you turn it on people
shit themselves
because the fuel is ignited in the exahst manifold (to
keep the turbo spinning) it is quite hard on turbos
unless
you have a ceramic coated, ball bearing racing turbo
You got that right.
I have heard, could be wrong though, that anti
lag systems are not very kind to turbo's. Apparently they need to be rebuilt
quite regularly. Not sure if this is true though.
Imagine if the anit lag popped as you went past a
little old lady driving her hillman, the poor dear might have a heart
attack!

There are silent(ish) BOV's on the market,
but you have to plum the outlet of the BOV back into your air intake
stream. There are a few on the market, Turbo Smart certainly make
one.
I don't know of any that pop or bang, but it
sounds like your describing anti-lag systems.
