I did this to my 1600, its very time consuming and as greg said its hard when you come to the front mud flap (which is usually where the rust is!!)
Anyway good luck and I have a small amount of sill left so if you only need a small piece let me know and you can have mine if I can find it.... I have about 1/2 the length from the rear tyre to the front tyre. If that makes any sense!
