when i put the  5speed  in my 1600, i had to modify the crossmember. i cut the bit out where the gearbox mount goes, then bolted up the other two halves to the body.    then i bolted the middle bit up to the box, with a jack underneath it, put it up to the right height, then cut out some   3mm mild steel plate  to make it all fit together,  tack welded it  all together , while it was still on the car ,  took it of then fully welded it.    mark k ----- Original Message ----- From: jimmy To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 10, 2002 9:48 PM Subject: member Guys   I have a small problem with my gearbox cross member.
