I intend to fashion up a heat shield before the racing next weekend but i have some questions.... Can u mount one end of the shield to the airfilter assy (K&N)? Either under the filter assy or on top I'm concerned about the vibration that it may cause to the carbs if mounted too tight Does the heat shield need to be rubber mounted too? I'm thinking some sort of 'L' brackets off the centre exh studs. Should the shield extend from as close to the head as possible and finish at or before the aircleaner assy? I'm going to make the shield part out of lightweight sheet alloy (a stop sign might be fun) but should the brackets onto the exhaust studs be alloy or steel? I intend to incorporate a side flap type arrangement at the front to try and shield the distributor. Any problems with this? Maybe airflow? Sorry for all the questions but i never thought something so seemingly simple could prove so hard to work out.
