I cant help you with the specs on the temp sender, but im sure they are in
the manual, at least they will be in the official holden manual, they may
not be in the gregory's ones.

The temp sensors are located on the top of the thermostat housing at the
top of the valley of the block.  There are two there.  One uses a single
wire that clips on and this is the one that runs the guage on your dash
board.  THe other one was a clip on it, like the ones most EFI cars have. 
This one is the one that the computer looks at.  Simple job to remove but
im not sure of the price of a new one, sometimes these things can be pretty
expensive
