Ok, pretty easy to explain this one. 70 26 - Exhaust opens at 70 btdc and closes at 26 atdc, for duration at zero lift add 180 degrees so 276 degrees (that's how I knew this spec was for exhaust as you told me what it was)
same for inlet 26 + 68 + 180 = 274 At 50' lift the duration is 216, I'm guessing it's inlet side cause who gives a toss what that spec is on the exhaust side. Sometimes ppl quote cam duration divided by 4, you've heard of a 66 (rally spec) or for popular 2xDCOE 72 etc, this one is 68.5 so it's a bit lumpy at idle which will be ~800rpm or so and you may not need modified lash pads for it if this is for a L20B - check this out first before you install, it would help if you knew who ground it. regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ryan Ottens Sent: Wednesday, 20 March 2002 9:50 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: cam specs hey list, i just bought a lumpy cam for $30 the other day. now i finally got the specs back of it today. but got no fricken idea on what most of them mean. all i know is the degree of the cam vaguely. this is what ive got timing - open: 7026 close: 2668 duration - Inlet: 274 (the degree of the cam?) Exhaust: 276 at 50thou 216 (wtf?) anyways this is what ive been told. could someone please say 'decifer' this language and tell me what it means, and also like how lumpy is it etc etc. thanks again, ryan _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
