hi,   i think that the  lock is held in by 1 or 2 bolts,  they have heads on them , then  u keep turning them till they go tight , and then keep going till the heads bust off, then no one can use a spanner and get  the  ign lock off.

i hink that u will most probally have to  remove tthe shroud around the colum, (maybe even lower the steering colum)
get a big enough drill bit and drill the head of the  blind bolt(s) outt , or even the  whole bolt, then you can use normal bolts to put  it back together.

Subject: Steering Lock

guys I need to know how to get around the steering lock on a 200B.  A mate of mine has left his in my yard and has gone interstate for a while, he's taken the keys with him and I'm moving house this weekend the car has to go by tomorrow arvo, I've got into it and started it no worries, but how do I stop the steering lock from engaging? I called the guy who owns the car, he'd prefer if it was done without breaking it, but he said if there's no other way to just do it.  Are there any tricks to doing it without breaking the locking mechanism or will I have to break it?  if I have to break it, what's the best way to do it?

Dave
