Gotsta be a bit careful comparing figures for the 240Z and the 260Z becuase Nissan changed the way it measured rated output. The 240Z is quoted with an output of 150HP, but this is GROSS HP at the flywheel with no accessories and is not really a 'real world' figure. OTOH, for the 260Z the quoted output is 139HP NET (ie with accessories) and so is closer to the actual, usable HP output of the engine. The equivalent NET output for the 240Z is about 130HP, so in fact there was a HP increase from the 240Z to the 260Z, it just didn't 'seem' that way because the unwillingnesss of the L26 to rev in comparison to the L24. Note: the above HP figures are for US spec cars. Oz spec Z's probably had slightly more HP than US models because of the reduced amount of emisions gear, but model comparison is probably similar. --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
