Which parts of the shock wear? What are we covering up by filling it with thicker oil? Or is it the oil itself that deteriorates over time?
Just wondering, I think I will do it to my front shockers soon.

Stock Datsun 1600?� If so, Unscrew the tops and drain the old shocker fluid out and clean the valving if necessary.� Refill with 300ml of Castrol GTX2 engine oil.� Assuming the valves are still working, you will have stiffer shockers when you reassemble them.
