Thanks Chris I had a quick look at your page and will study it more when I have the time. Rewiring might be the only option left as the current wiring on my car is pretty dodgy. Had a look around your site too, havent seen it for awhile, and its coming along really well. :) The Esky looks great.

Also thanks James and Mark - I had a look at the earth on the bonnet release thingy and all looked well there, so I am guessing it must be something else.

Your relay has probably crapped out I reckon. The Datto headlights use a
strange switched earth instead of switched positive arrangement. Have a
read of my headlight page, it might shed some light on the matter
(pardon the pun :)

Subject: Headlights stopped working!

Hi All,

We are having a few problems with the headlights in my 1600 and were
hoping that there might be a 'quick fix' of some kind. They were working
perfectly then suddenly after a trip to the coast they decided to stop
working completely - thats all 4 of them.

We have checked the wires going to the lights and there seems to be
power to all of them - 3 pins in the outer lights and 2 pins in the
inner lights - shouldnt there be no power to at least 1 of these to
allow for an earth? We have checked the earth on the bonnet puller and
it's all still connected nice and tight. All the other lights work -
indicators, parkers, tail-lights etc.

If you earth one of the wires to the drivers side lights they come on
but this of course means that the switch doesnt work - it bypasses it -
but we can see from this that none of the bulbs are blown.

Help!!! We are completely stumped on this one, really hoping someone can
help.

Thanks,

Charlotte. :)
