The 510SSS is 100% the same as the L18 head,which is also the same as the V912.
Its not really lumpy at all.but if you have big carbs good head flow and a good outlet pipe it will honk to about 7500Rpm in most gears even 4th.
I have seen it over 9000Rpm but a waste of time ,power was max pull at the 7000Rpm range.

I dont think I will ever use a ground non stock cam,I have street raced with other 510's same sort of engine(so they said) but they say they have got a lumply cam and the cars do sound like it,I think thats what is slowing them down.
