I was on the diy-efi list for about 8 months at one stage. In that time I didnt actually hear about anyone who wasnt directly involved with its development just coming allong, wiring it up, and driving away. Last I heard they had a fuel and ignition version going as well, but you would be hard pressed to get any help from any of the ego cases on that list - what invariably happens when someone goes on the list to get some info is a couple of people start accusing them of some kind of evil for just coming allong and asking a question, and then for a few days everyone starts ranting about how smart they are.
They have a cheap wide band o2 sensor kit as well - if you are prepared to send your money and not get shit - from the comments of pissed off people on that list.
