What I heard was that it's the loss of points for these offences that's new, and not the offences as such. Didn't we just get a sticker for these offences before?

What about the external BOV - are they illegal full stop or is there a noise limit?

I wonder why the use of a mobile phone without a hands free kit wasn't included. I was in the sights of a Toorak Tractor (in my 1600) yesterday for way too long and it was all but out of control and guess what - damn mobile phone stuck in ear and driver trying to get out of a skid with one hand - bloody brilliant that.

regards
Terry

Subject: RE: New laws! Please read!!!

The exhaust sound limit is not a new law, rather they are just clamping down on it now (as they seem to be doing for speeding more then ever lately). I think the same applies to stereos and wheels (law that has not been strictly policed in the past)

BOV's are also on their hit list...

2 points for excessive noise (exhaust, stereo, burnouts)
1 point for defective vehicle (wheel size, lowered suspension, bov)
