Hey Terry

One went not long ago that a guy sold in Western Sydney,
he got 15 k for it!!!
Guess it depends on the person buying the car on the day.
It is a lot of cash I agree, maybe some people pay that sort of dough if
they know how much it'd cost them to build one from scratch or if they don't
have the time or the knowledge to build one themselves and all they want is
a nice 1600.
Guess it adds to the good old "it's only worth what someone's willing to
pay" clich..

Cheers
Dave

David,

Danny would like to think you're right, but in reality there haven't been
too many 1600's sell for 12+K in recent years, I can recall hearing about
one in Sydney - it was the one on the SSS site with the big Nissan brakes
and the funny thing is we haven't heard of it since - may be it went OS.

regards
Terry

I have to disagree..not all 1600's are the same nice or not. If your talking
a std FJ and running gear yes
maybe 10 to 12 k in a smick 1600, but if your looking at a smick 1600 with a
nice rebuilt FJ or Sr for that matter, big turbo and intercooler and
all the bullshit to make it fly and handle well you'd have to look at
getting more for it I'd say.
I know your looking at roughly a 30 year old car , but a 1600 built to
handle, look better than new and go very hard's go to be worth more than
10-12 k top dollar in my opinion.
Weigh up what it cost most of us to build our car's and then minus the 10
-12k..not even close.
I know we don't do it for the cash but I'd like to think I'd get more than
that for mine after all the hard work and effort that's gone into it.
Just my opinion
Thanks
