Yep Errol is correct. I went to one of the racecar dynamics seminars with Claude Rouelle (ex head race engineer in F1?/CART/IRL etc etc) and he made the point that the use of nitrogen in dampers etc was for consistent operation, because there is no change in expansion/compression with temp.
