Title: Re: Cable operated throttles
I think I'm the only sucker that has admitted to taking out a 5 speed at the payment office - fortunately it was on a $50 any gearbox day.

Outside we were loading our bits into the trailer and a bloke parked next to us was stuffing an interesting looking gearbox into the boot of a Celica.  I asked him if it was a Supra box. Answer? yes, and it cost $100.

The bloke works for a rival wrecker nearby, specialising in Toyotas, and said they sell these boxes for $600.  You can really find bargain bits at Pick a Part, if you know what your looking for and are lucky to be there at the right time - good bits move fast.

A few years back I picked up a close ratio 260Z  'box for about $100 from Pinch...sorry, Pick-a-Part.  Told 'em it was a 4cyl 4-speed, and they didn't know the difference !!
