Sounds like what happened to me. I ended up fabricating a cable throttle linkage which has fixed the linikage problem properly. i the short term try shortening the rod and drilling two new holes in the lip of the firewall to mount the pivot bit at the right location.

Subject: SSS carby's
Ive bolted on what i think are general SSS twin SU style carby's but it
seems that the linkages dont line up!
The linkage from the fire wall out to the carbs doesnt line up with the
throttle of the carbs. THe throttle of the carbs are about 6-8cm closer to
the block than the where the single Hitachi would be.
Any one know what im on about here?
Are these indeed SSS carbs? or sre they something different?
I would have thought that they would have lined up no worries to the std
linkage, but i was wrong
Thanks
