Mark,

As it did run well then it needs diagnosis/attention in the following
areas - (basically a full tune and shot parts replacement.) Plugs, points
and condenser (na if EI), HT leads, fuel & air filters, dizzy cap, fuel
supply, tappet clearances, air leaks at inlet mani, ignition timing,
mechanical advance is operational - that should do for starters.

It's very unlikely that the carbie needs touching - 45 webers don't go out
of tune very often once sorted unless someone fiddles with the mixture
screws, your have a single so air balance is not a factor.

regards
Terry

Subject: time for a tune

Hi listers,

My L20B was running really well recently, but at the moment it doesn't want
to rev past 3000 and you cant plant your foot because it just coughs and
splutters. The carby is a 45mm weber, can anyone think of why it's not
running right??? how could i fix it?

I am going to take my car in for a tune, i'll get the carby looked at, and
the timing etc, but does anyone know a good relatively cheap place to go to
that know their webers/datsuns?? has to be in the eastern suburbs
(melbourne)
If anyone can recommend a good place to go, or can help me figure out my
carby problem, i would really appreciate it :)

Cheers,
Mark.
