Mark, The original 1600 wheel has a switch on the ring that just completes an earth and there is one wire to connect to the wheel off the original loom. A PO may have changed things around a bit on yours if you don't have the wire connected to the Momo but it should be tucked away in there somewhere. I can't remember what colour it is and I don't think it's all that easy to find on a wiring diagram either - I can find out the colour tomorrow if you require.
