What a top idea! Good work Cloughy, I have had rally cars repeatedly rust out in the arse like this. I never thought of changing the rubber to the lid!

Think about putting a rubber seal on the boot lid, rather than in the body channel, about 20mm further out than the traditional channel mounted seal. This keeps the seal out of the channel and stops dirt, and later rust, under starting the rubber. My son did this mod a few years ago. It seals perfectly, and no rust growth in the channel. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Webb" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, 18 August 2002 21:44 PM Subject: Re: door rubber > Thanks Andrew and Richard... > > My 1600 is off at the spray painters at the moment and is due back on > wednesday! so I was hoping to get the rubbers and stuff before it came back. > > Its about $50 a door or 9.21 a metre so I guess if I get 15 metres it should > be enough.... the boot isnt the same rubber is it? > > Richard > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "GREENBURY, Andrew Robert" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Sunday, August 18, 2002 8:26 PM > Subject: Re: door rubber > > > > Hi Richard, > > > > By my measurements, front door seals are 3.4m ea, rear door seals > > 3.3m ea, > > front door bailey channel 2.2m ea, rear door bailey channel 2.01m > > ea. > > > > Total 13.4m door seal; 8.42m bailey channel > > > > Id check the measurements, and buy a bit extra to be sure. > > > > Andrew > > > > On Sun, 18 Aug 2002, Richard Clough wrote: > > > > > Cant help with the door lengths.
