Mark,

Could be a sensor malfunction - on the FJ I always start with checking that
the TPS is working properly, then the connections on the Air flow device,
then the water temp connector on the thermostat housing, hows the
thermostat?, and then the connector on the ECU. If all those inputs are
working, then it should run like magic.

Subject: sticky throttle of ECU run-on?


I have the symptoms of a sticky throttle - revs hold or rise on gear
change (only occasionally though)  on my FJ20 Turbo, but there's no
problem apparent when checking the cable operation in the garage. Can
the ECU cause this through wiring or sensor malfunction or loose
connection to a sensor etc. Haltech F9 takes input from MAP, water temp,
TPS, air temp only.
