Chris,

You can use the Japanese version of the N13 radiator with the L engine as the outlets are on the correct side, downer with this radiator though is the inlet/outlet hose sizes are very small. The Aussie alloy N13 has the inlet/outlet on the wrong side for the L engine, but fwiw the pipe sizes are good. The wrong side thing is a hassle but I've seen one used on the L and they are a brilliant radiator.

You say a 3 core wont work as well? as what? A 3 core done right will freeze the average L series engine driven on the street - they are brilliant and I've used them on L rally engines pulling in excess of 200 hp screaming at 7000+ rpm all day in back blocks of the Riverina at 35C temps with only a piddly 10" thermo fan set at 100c that only comes on at the check point when it's all over. I've used 3 core radiators in my L powered 1600's for yonks and never ever had an over heating problem - over cooling in Canberra winters though but that's another issue.

Another trick to cool a warm L series is to use a water pump off an air conditioned Stanza or Bluebird. The pulley is much smaller and has a better impeller than the stock pump.

regards
Terry

Subject: Radiator

g'day all,

Im running astroker 2.4L L20 and im having cooling probs, looking for some help from those in the know!

With the L16 there was never even a hint of a problem, even thou the rad isnt that flash.  Now i could get it recored to a 3 core but the 3rd core will never work aswell, so im thinking that wont solve all the problems.

What have others done with stroker motors running hot?

How well does the N13 rad line up with the L series hoses?  This may be my only option although i'd like to keep the std look

THanks in advance

CHris S
