I've had a similar problem since recently doing an l20 conversion, does the
driveshaft need balancing or is it simply tightning those awkward nuts?

I got vibrations like that too...  I'm guessing it's the unbalanced wheels
on the back or the 5 mm of play in the tail shaft, which is both gearbox and
diff.
