Andrew,

Are you talking about the 1600 in the pics that you posted yesterday? It's
somewhere in the late '69 to mid '70 build. Note the DATSUN badge in the
centre of the rear panel. What type of speedo i.e. strip or round - if it's
round type then I'd guess somewhere between 12/69 and 10/70 when the badges
moved to the boot lid, if it's the strip type speedo then in the range
6/69 - 11/69. The straight wiper motor was also used for most '70 models and
the aerial first appeared on the drivers side "A" pilar. Actually I'm
thinking it is a '70 model as the grill and badged also changed in 12/69 to
what you have. It's the same as mine, so that's why I noticed the detail.
What did look a bit "not right" is the side blinkers - they don't look
original although it could be just an illusion, the '70 model had the thin
type markers and yours look sort of "bubbly" aka '69.

regards
Terry

I'm trying to figure out what year the 1600 is that i just scored. There
is no compliance plate on the firewall.Looks like there might have been
one at one stage. It has the small version blinker lights on the front
gaurds but has kph on the inside of the speedo. The wiper motor sits
horizontal but looks like the old style.
