What size chokes are you running in the
Webers? My L20B which is a 2L made 92kw on that dyno at the nationals :)
and has bags of low down torque. I am running 36mm chokes. I also tried 38mm but
lost a lot of torque with only a small gain in power. Also it depends a lot on
the cam you are using. I am running a Wade 640a which has quite a lot of valve
lift (.595") and also has a fast ramp rate (valve opens fast) with less
overlap than some of the other cams. This helps out the low end torque quite a
bit, but is fairly hard on the rockers and cam wear although not excessive.
Maybe a close ratio gearbox would help you keep the engine in its powerband
better?
