hi, i did  put new oil in the original shocks once, i even bought new suspension oil from  motor traders.
i think that the oil  u have might be to thik.
try some  auto trans fluid ( even used oil/s) and some 20 w 50  mixed to gether .
as far as i can remember the proper oil is a bit thicker than sewing machine oil.

my front shocks are totally useless.....you could basically take them away and you wouldnt notice a difference......i need a quick fix just for the moment before i buy some decent ones...
 
id really like to spend $0 on them.....will just changing the oil in them improve them at all??
i have here at home 20w-50 and 15w-40 motor oils.....would either of those make them any better???
 
i dont mind if it gives me a hard ride
