Different oils behave differently under different temperatures, pressures etc. I dont know a lot about oil, but because of that I wouldnt dare go substituting when I dont know what the effects are going to be. The worst that could happen to your mechanicals is your new shocks could mean you turn a $6k investment into a $6k paperweight with the help of your local tree.
