Andrew,

Here are the colours of ZL gearbox speedo drives - both 5x or 6x drives are
the same colour.

16 Yellow
17 Black
18 Blue
19 White
20 Red
21 Purple
22 Pink
23 Not on my list - anyone know?

There are two sleeve assemblies - for 16t-19t pinions, and 20t-23t. When you
fit a red drive to a 16-19t holder you run into the problem of the slot not
lining up on the extension housing and there are two ways out 1) as the
holders are offset, you can rotate the holder until it meshes and reslot
which is the usual way or 2) fit the extension housing off the vehicle that
has the other holder as standard.

regards
Terry

Subject: Re: speedo drive...`

Hi Mark,

Ive got a C210 skyline box in with a standard diff and 196/50R15
tyres, and I required a pink/red speedo drive for my speedo to be
accurate (cant remember how many teeth). An alloy body speedo
drive was required. Apparently this is relatively the same box as
the 240K, so maybe you have a steel body speedo drive at the
moment?

A grey/black cog was originally in my box, and there was no way
my new drive wanted to go in which made me think I also had
something wrong. On comparision with the original, it appeared
that the pink cog being bigger wouldnt fit in the meshing space that
the grey cog did. But when put in rotated 180 degrees (so the slot
is at the bottom rather than the top) it did mesh nicely. So I just
used a hacksaw to make a new slot for the fixing tab. Perhaps you
are finding this issue also?

As for which colour cog you require sorry I dont know. Hope it helps
Andrew
