L20b head bolts

Can someone tell me if I need some special tool to remove the head bolts. They look kinda like an alien key or something. Im sure when I was working on my A series engine they were just a standard 12 or 14.   Im planning to put a new cam in the head and do some work on it, is there anything I need to do like keep it TDC or anything?
