Hi Trevor, Long time no hear from.
240Z/260Z struts are not suitable for a 1600 as the spindle angle is cactus - i.e. positive camber to the tune of 5 degrees when fitted to a 1600 - the exact specs are on the US Bluebirds website. 280ZX (C130 series) with either coil overs or 510 retaining perch retro-fitted is the Zed way to go on a 1600. Brake options are good with this strut too (250mm vented, good pads still available in Aus), I'm a bit surprised not more of them are used in 1600's in Aus - I guess the perch changeover is the tricky bit, but our US friends do this all the time. I'm told that strut spacers are required for the ZX conversion (Errol? supply these). I also recall that someone on here (Richard Clough?) was having a bash at a 280ZX strut conversion on a 1600 a while back - not sure how much progress to date. regards Terry -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Greg Sent: Sunday, 17 November 2002 5:54 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Strut Details G'day Terry Have you heard of anyone using 240z struts and shocks on a 510 race car or are they too short. I was planning on moving the lower control arms pivots up 20mm and using some strut spacers.
