Consider yourself shot ;-)

Silhouette was the 'sports' model of the locally built R31 range, definately not imported.  All R31's used the locally sourced Borg Warner Model 78 diff in a live axle arrangment (as did VL's, VN's and some Fords).  It's a heap of crap compared with the R200/IRS combo that the Jap spec models got....

Do the Skyline Silhouette have a LSD (R180 i suppose) that will fit into a 1600?
The rear brake swap is a common one by listers I hear, can you just bolt the whole rear end into a 1600?

I'd go an R31 too, try for a Silloutte (however you spell it) as it has an LSD and some other things... probably will be a bit more expensive but should be in your price range.
 
Then a cheap *bolt in* conversion of an rb20det :) most importers just want rid of them

Hi all,
         Time is coming for me to sell the 1600 soon(another  baby on the way) and need a bigger car. I was wondering what would be a good choice ( Nissan of course) for around $4-5000.
                            
 I have been thinking of the following;
 
          Skylines- not sure which models.
          Datsun 2400- the big 1600!! ( fit an L24e)
          Are there any other fuel injected Datsuns?
 
Could people give me there thoughts/ideas on these or other cars and what they like/recommend and things to be wary of when inspecting these cars. Feel free to e-mail me off list too.
