Cam, My dad got a Panasonic F7 for about $800. Some places retail it for $970. It can shoot 4 shots a second (up to a max. 5 pics) in "burst mode" which very few digital cameras can do. Great for action. Plus it has a Leica lens (best optics) and takes great low light shots. Resolutions are 1600 x 1200 , 800 x 600 , and 640 x 480, but burst mode only works on the lower resolution or mid (can't recall). Only downside I reckon is it only has a max 2x optical zoom, most others have 3x optical zoom in that price range -but they don't have burst mode.
