Thanks Kris and Andrew, that certainly helps!
I have heard though that 240K and 200B complete front ends (crossmember and all i
think) bolt into 1200's to allow you to fit L series engines. So if that is true,
could we put a 200B front end in and then just reverse the crossmember to suit the
CA18 sump???
In the end it would probably be easier just using the stanza struts, but i thought it
was worth asking.
If it ends up being stanza struts easiest then i might have to take you up on your
offer Ross, thanks.

Title: RE: Project 1200 - brakes/tunnel/diff q's
Hi Mark,
I used to race a coupe that had Stanza struts but unsure which type. I was told to get the ones that would fit the 1200 ball joints (apparently they are different). Sorry i can`t be more specific. Then i went and got the discs and twin spot Sumitomo`s from the 240k Coupe. I took the Stanza disc`s off their hubs and then fitted the 240k disc`s to the Stanza hubs (bolt together). You will have to upgrade your master cylinder to 13/16 or bigger (i think).
There are other people on the list that can help as well. It`s all pretty easy to do.

Good luck!

Kris.

Mark

If the stanza struts fit, I have a spare stanza you can raid for parts. It also has a set of Stanza SSS alloys (13 inches) which would obviously fit over the stanza brakes. Email me off list if you are interested.

    Subject:        Project 1200 - brakes/tunnel/diff q's

    Hey all,
A friend of mine just purchased a 1200 sedan with plans for a CA18DET conversion, but we need to know a few things first, and if anyone can help out with some advice or knowledge it would be great!

Firstly we need to work out what brake upgrades can be done to a 1200, preferably on the easy side. Do stanza struts and brakes fit?? Also what brakes will be required to get the car engineered with the CA? He has 13" jellybeans for wheels, will these fit over the upgraded brakes??

The next problem was the transmission tunnel - the 1200 is a manual so does this mean we will have to chop up the tranny tunnel to fit the CA box? Or does it fit okay if you use a stumpy R30 skyline box with the CA bellhousiing?

Lastly the diff will have to be upgraded - is there any easy upgrades from other nissan donor cars like a bluebird maybe?? Also would it be necessary to get a disc brake rear end?? maybe from a bluey TRX??

Sorry for the long post but any info would be much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Mark Firman
