Hmmm,
I have been to both Australian and American Ford dealers sites.
Here are the links for both countries BASE MODEL Ford Focus.
The Australian Version says(Powered by a responsive 1.8 litre engine with 5-speed manual transmission, or an optional 2.0 litre engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, the CL is packed with outstanding features.)

The American version says(2.0L 16V DOHC Zetec I-4 engine for the same base model)

As I have said before, Australian base models are crap, no other country in the world would buy them.
How can anyone say the Australian base models are cheaper than the American base model when they don't even compare in the specs??

I am confused.
Later.
Rick White.

The US doesn't have better pricing on Ford motor cars, check out the web
site, it says plain as day what the base model Focus is worth.

Not quite correct.  A 318 is only about AUD $38k  in Germany but your
point is valid.

Prices in the US are better than in Australia as well, mainly
contributed to the face the Australian market is so small.
