Last night about 7 pm while standing in the driveway next to my datto, I saw
what looked like a comletely original datsun 1600 drive past. I almost
jumped in my car to follow it because it looked so nice-original shiny hub
caps and roof racks added on. I didn't because I had been driving all day
and my parents had shut to gate to keep the dog in, openig it would have
taken a minute. This morning my parents came home and said there was a
datsun 1600 out the front of the local garage so I drove down to have a
look. AAAAARRRGH
CRAP... As I feared, it was the very same car I saw drive past last night
and the P plate driver had stacked it into a tree about 1 kilometer down the
road from my house. The front dead center is smashed in about 25 cm, I don't
think the engine was pushed back though.
The rest of the car is perfect. One of the best I've seen. Original white
paint and red interior-no rust. what a shame. I've got the owners number so
I'll see if he wants to sell it. I don't think he was an enthusiast. just
wanted to share the news, Thomas.
