1600 steering column blinker/ headlight switch

Hi datters, today i buggered up the steering column blinker / headlight switch assembly & was wondering if a 180b one would go on easily ...... it's a 71 1600 ... & it has the larger diamter column, i have the one with the smaller diameter which of course doesnt fit or work ......... any suggestions ? i need this car so a quick fix would be great!
