If your getting that clutch smell it is allready slipping. If it`s
shuddering you may have had some oil on the clutch plate which is one reason
it will shudder.
Clutches usually only slip in first if your trying to take
off harder that normal, if contaminated, or worn out or a combination of.
I would personally get it replaced ASAP as you could
possibly damage your flywheel from heat and end up with crackes in you
flywheel.
When changing the clutch get the flywheel
machined/surfaced. A local Brake & Clutch place can do it.
Did you get the front end fixed? What was it?
