As far as I know there are only 2 RWD 4 door cars made in America still. That is the Lincoln Town Car (huge american luxury car) and the Ford Crown Victoria which is Falcon sorta large family car but only aviable with a V8, it's also the car of choice for police forces ever since Chev stopped production of their RWD Caprice also a popular choice for Taxis. I think there's also a new Lincoln that is rwd for the sportyness factor, think Jaguar like. Thankfully your die hard sports cars remain RWD for obvious reasons. Corvette, Mustang etc etc
Trucks, vans and SUVs are still primarly RWD or have the optional 4WD.

As far as the GM GEO, I belive a few of their cars are just rebadged Suzukis. One of the cars I drove there was a GEO and it was just a rebadged Suzuki swift. I'd be suprised if any of rhe GEOs are even made in America, it's mainly just a small car brand to compete with Jap cars.

Well Damien you don't lower your car in Colorado you raise it! :) I bet you've seen a few pick up trucks with big mud tires and floodlights.

Hmm the steering on the left would suit left handers like me better I think.

Are there still some towns that use the old tanks for cop cars? I swear
I've seen new movies and they are driving around in them.
Are you refering to those Crown Victorias I mentioned?

And do Americans
really squeal their tyres everytime they start, turn and stop?
I don't think so, but geez the sound production guys really go overboard don't they? hehe

Whats the fuel quality like over there?
Well they have three grades of octane if I remember right, I guess regular, super and premuim, all unleaded, I would guess premuim is either 98 or 103 octane.

Damien why didn't you buy a decent car like a Chev Camero or somthing? :P I hear you can pick up and 80's V8 one of those for around $2000.

Had my first drive in the northern hemisphere at about 1715 yesterday. The car was a Chevrolet GEO, circa 1985, a 4 cylinder, front wheel drive car like a Astra, Corrolla, etc.
It had a engine that looked too similiar to a Camira, Pulsar or Astra. General Motors have a motor called the 'world motor' because it is sold in many cars world-wide. I read about it in Australia and think that it was the same engine.
The weirdest thing was when my left hand kept hitting the drivers window because of how I instinctingly go to change gears using my left hand!!!

Most cars in the USA are front wheel drive, and have been for about 15 years. Even 6 cylinders and V8's come out in FWD. In general American cars are ugly things, and most Americans will admit that Japanese cars are better quality, both in build quality and road manners. The Import scene is getting big here ( think fast and furious), but unfortunately it is not big were I live in the Colorado Rockies. A lowered car would be unusable here in winter. Their are heaps of movies coming out in the spirit of 'fast and furious', but I dont know if they will reach Australia. Fast and Furious 2 will be released here shortly.

MOMO are bringing out car audio speakers in  the USA. This project is in partnership with Polk audio. Full sick fuk, mate!!!!

Keep it sideways,

Damo
