I was picked up on that once with an old Morris. i just swapped in another motor, the difference was amazing. I had been putting up with slow wipers for ages!
Unless there is a definite fault with yours causing it to go slow, it is probably just shagged. I'd put in another one.
Does anyone know if you can use one of a leter model as a replacement?

Subject: 1600 wiper speed
Hi all,
I took my car to get roadworthied today and they picked me up on the wipers
being too slow. They are pretty damn slow but i just thought every datsun
was like that! What can i do without having to put in another motor that
will speed them up? Maybe install a relay near the wiper motor so that the
motor is getting the full 12volts?? or is there another trick to it? perhaps
the pivot point bits need a bit of lube??
Any help much appreciated!
Mark.
