The advice is almost right. Any post 72 Lseries 6 cylinder box and any post 72, 5 speed 4cyl Lseries box will fit, up to bluebird series 2. Therefore 240K and Z, Skyline, or !80BSSS, 200BSSS 200BSX, Its pretty easy to pick the right one. Just look for the L series boxes that have the same shift mechanism, dont look at 4 speed 1600 or 180Bs.
