Weather strips

I just got all the rubber weatherstrips form   http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/Datsun%201968-72%201600.htm   just comparing the new and the old, on the new one the part that slides up and down the outside of the window is much longer (twice as long) than on the old one which is all dry and crusty.
