Hey guys,
a few of you have been waiting for me to get off my butt and fit my rims to see if they would actually fit the car. Good news, they do indeed fit and perfectly. They are 16 x 7" superlites +12mm offset with 45 series tyres.
You'll have to get the plastic inserts that slide into the centre hole of the rim so the centre of the rim locates on the hub properly. No problems, $2.50 a rim from any good tyre shop. Thickness will depend on what front hubs you have. i.e you need thicker ones on the front as the 200B hubs have a slightly smaller diameter locating face.
The only thing that could be better is the offset of the rears. Using a +12mm rims fits perfectly and just clears the guard (3 or 4mm clearance) BUT the nuts only have about 6 turns (or threads) on the studs to screw onto. I would prefer at least 8 or more, but we'll see how it goes. A +20mm offset rim would cure this, since they just machine some meat off the back of the mating surface of the rim.
Anyway if anyone was wondering, YES they do fit and fit nicely. I'm hoping to join in with the VIC cruise at the end of the month since I'm moving to Albury next week, so I'll see how busy I'm with work.
Daniel
