GST is not supposed to be charged on 2nd hand goods so long as they are sold
< half their brand new price I think.

Don't quote me though... :)

Subject: GST and second hand car sales - OFF TOPIC

A little off topic, but thought I might be able to find some answers here.

This maybe a really stupid question.

But when buying a second hand car from a dealer, how does the gst come into
the price? If it does at all???

I've been looking at cars and want to know if i'll be stung an extra 10%
ontop of list price? If so then i'm going to bury my money in my backyard :)

>From looking at private sales and dealer sales I would have thought that
GST
isn't charged? As it would make the dealers very uncompetitive in the used
car market.

Any help much appreciated.

cheers,
Adam
